![]() ![]() Course Schedule and Curriculum The Program On-site Registration will take place from 2-4 pm on Sunday, April 18 at the Adams Pointe Conference Center. A course overview and class session will be followed by a welcoming dinner. Breakfasts, lunches and refreshment breaks are served daily through the meal plan. Attendance at all class sessions is required to receive a certificate of completion.
Because of space limitations for the group exercises, the class will be limited to 85 . Prospective participants should register as early as possible. Upon satisfactory completion of the course, participants receive a course certificate and continue their training with the International Economic Development Council's professional development series, or Economic Development Institute. Curriculum HEDC offers participants a unique economic development learning opportunity in the. Participants work in teams on case studies incorporating a host of development related issues and challenges including: business development, workforce, managing an EDO, financial incentives, infrastructure, transportation and urban/rural issues. Teams will present their work throughout the week. Heartland One to One The course uses a variety of training methods and formats that revolve around the exercises in which participants, working in groups, present various case studies. Also featured is Heartland One to One professional consultation program. Participants can pre-schedule a one to one meeting with our faculty and "seasoned" Board members throughout the course and find answers to organizational challenges. Development Tour Participants have a unique opportunity to learn "on site" real estate and community development strategies. One afternoon will be dedicated to a reuse business tour of the areas development success stories. Along the way, hear from experts on efforts being taken to shape the region's growth.
