Scholarships

Participants are encouraged to contact their state's economic development association and your utility partners for information on possible scholarships or tuition assistance that may be used toward IEDC's Heartland Economic Development Course.


Heartland's Scholarship for Community Service is a tuition scholarship awarded to one community volunteer involved with local economic development initiatives in rural communities or urban neighborhoods.


Black Hills Energy Economic Development program offers tuition scholarships for continuing education to individuals involved in economic development and chamber of commerce management in its community.


KCP&L


Alliant Energy will pay the cost of tuition for approved courses to professional developers who represent communities served by Alliant Energy, up to a maximum of $550 per person annually.


MidAmerican's economic development partner program offers 100% reimbursement of Tuition/Registration fees to professional developers who repressent communities served by MidAmerica Energy Company.


The scholarships are available to PDI members to further their professional training in the field. The maximum scholarship is $500 per application, not to exceed 50% of eligible costs (tuition fees, course fees and course materials). The maximum amount of scholarship funds awarded to any one member is $1000. We estimate that 15 scholarships will be available this year to PDI members. If you need financial assistance to take advantage of educational opportunities, submit your application monthly or prior to the Spring or Fall PDI Conference.
